Marine Biology

This program explores the biological sciences through studies in the unique coastal environment. The curriculum offers broad training in general biology, while emphasizing the local flora and fauna in estuaries and the marine environment. Students may take electives to emphasize certain interests such as vertebrate zoology, coastal wetlands ecology, conservation, comprehensive biology, fisheries biology, mammalogy, and aquatic animal health. Students may choose electives to allow them to pursue biomedical or veterinary degree programs as well.

Marine Biology/License Option

This curriculum includes the necessary coursework for the marine biology degree and training for the Third Mate deck officer license as conducted by the Texas A&M Maritime Academy. Participation in the Corps of Cadets is mandatory for this degree program.
