Get To Know Katie Slatton

What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

The desire to become a better athlete in my teenage years led me to look into exercise and nutrition on a deeper level. The results of personal changes and knowledge I gained during this time encouraged me to pursue Kinesiology as a degree path in College.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

Knowledge is power. Educating students on the ramifications of poor health choices and benefits of positive decisions is an absolute honor. I hope to motivate individuals live their best life and this all stems from good personal health on every level.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I am passionate about many thing in my personal life. I obviously am extremely passionate about health. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing daughters. My life is dedicated to my family and our farm. On a daily basis we care for a farm full of rescued farm animals. I am passionate about helping animals and giving them a wonderful life. I commit service hours to the following areas that are extremely important to me: Disability Services Committee, Alvin ISD school safety committee, A.C.T.S. community and K9 Kare.
