This picture was taken inside the caldera, after we had climbed up to the rim, and then into the caldera, on the fifth day of the eruption. One of the two jets had almost entirely disappeared by then, the second seen here was varying between 50 and 100 m in height. The light emitted by the magma jet is reflected off the walls of the caldera. We spent the night on the crater rim. In the morning, the spectacle had come to an end, and everything was once again as peaceful as ever.
