Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

*Navigate vessels safely and skillfully
*Ensure the overall safety of the vessel and all persons onboard
*Ensure readiness and maintenance of vessels
*Report mechanical problems on "Maintenance Discrepancy Report"
*Educate and infrom guests on navigation, the vessel and sights
*Ensure deckhands are properly trained
*Responsible for discipline of persons that are direct reports
*Coordinates with all shoer side personnel and port officials
*Conduct maritime education and training for students
*Particiapte in routine safety drills to prepare for major incidents/hurricanes
*Comply with United State Coast Guard and TAMUG policies, regulations, rules and standard administrative procedures

Job Qualifications

*High School Diploma
*Must be at least 18 years of age
*Valid Driver's License
*Valid minimum Master 100 Ton Inlan or greater License
*MMD Documentation
*TWIC
*First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (within 3 months of employment)
*Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
*Ability to work for extended periods without sitting
*Ability to perform manual labor
