Description of Duties & Responsibilities

 

Maintain contact with students outlined in the TAMUG peer educator guidelines, notify students of all important University sponsored activities. Educate students and raise awareness on important information outlined by the couseling staff. Attend Peer Mentor trainings, maintain accurate paperwork and logs on student contact as required. Advise students on personal, interpersonal, academic and adjustment concerns. Other counseling duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications

 

2.5 GPA or above (cumulative), sophmore status or beyond with at least one semester enrolled at TAMUG, full time status and in good standings, good written and oral communication skills, demonstrate knowledge of issues related to diversity, ability to interact with a diverse population, ability to conduct training sessions and/or seminars, some travel is required (at least once per semester).
