Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Training will be provided to ensure employee will be able to do the following:
• Inspect campus fire extinguishers
• Inspect campus AED’s
• Inspect campus shower and eyewash stations
• Inspect and lube campus fire department connections, fire sprinkler valves, fire hydrants
• Conduct follow up inspections using iForms
• Be proficient in use of inventory programs
• Document / Collect lab materials
• Participate and execute all safety exercises on campus

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (within 30 days of employment)
• Must be able to drive a full-sized pickup truck
• Must be able to comply with all TAMUG safety regulations
• Must have proficient computer skills i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work for extended periods without sitting
• Ability to perform manual labor
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, stoop, reach, climb, lift and/or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information in English, preferably bilingual in Spanish.
• Ability to hear alarms and commands, with or without the use of a public announcement system
• Must have normal color vision to accurately interpret lights and color-sensitive systems and safety displays
• Ability to use basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, preferably bilingual in Spanish
• Must be able to follow directions, learn from others and make appropriate decisions
• Must be dependable and stable under pressure
• Will be required to wear safety equipment mandated by OSHA  & TAMUG
