Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

Assist the laboratory coordinator in daily operation and maintenance of the machine shop and laboratories, including minor repairs of various machineries, machine tools and equipment.

Duties include preparing students' project samples for welding and machine shop classes, fabrication of machine parts, painting, cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay:  $8.00 - $9.00 depending on qualifications.

Job Qualifications

Be familiar working with Machinist or Welder.  Prefer knowledge with operation and maintenance of marine diesel engines and auxiliaries.  Must have prior basic machine shop/class or welding experience and be enrolled as at least a sophomore level for marine engineering/related academic studies.
