Description of Duties & Responsibilities |
Lab Portion: Assist with processing NRDA sea turtle project samples for stable isotope analysis. Will also be responsible for some data entry (minimal) and QAQC of NRDA data (5-7 hours per week) Field Portion: Preparation for and participation in sea turtle patrols in 2013. Must have own transportation, be able to endure working in hot and inclement weather. Fire ants, rattle snakes, lightening and other hazards may be encountered in the field. This position will also be responsible for handling a portion of the scheduling of volunteers for patrols and filling in gaps in coverage when people call in sick, go on vacation, etc. |

Job Qualifications |
Lab: Now through March 1st - August 15th: Previous experience preferred but willing to train. Must be able to work 10 hours a week, be dependable, be precise and be willing to spend hours at a time doing what can be tedious work with very small samples (500 micrograms or less). Experience using a micro-mill, accelerated solvent extractor and ultra micro-balance a plus. Must not be graduating before December 2013. Must be available for field work beginning April 1, 2013 through August 2013. |
