Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

The student worker will assist the PI and graduate students with various coastal ecology research projects. Responsibilities will include assisting with analytical lab procedures (soil and plant processing), washing glassware, entering data, and performing other lab tasks as required. The job may include occasional field work as well. The schedule is flexible, but for field work, student workers may be required to work a full eight-hour day. Field work will be in coastal marshes, which are very hot and muddy, especially during the summer and early fall.

Job Qualifications

Careful attention to detail and the ability to work with a team are required. Students majoring in marine biology or a related field are desired. Familiarity with wetlands, coastal ecology and basic laboratory techniques is desired; most protocols can be learned on the job.
