Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

• Complete all required safety training.
• Provide safety oversight and supervision for dive training activities in confined and open water settings.
• Promote, plan, organize and conduct diving activities in conjunction with TAMUG DIVE Faculty.
• Help classroom and water training activities flow smoothly by facilitating the instructors and assisting with designated students.
• Lab/Dive Site preparation.
• Onsite prevention and resolution of problems.
• Logistics support dives.
• Assist with providing equipment requirements and logistical support for dive operations.
• Assist with coordination of research projects, as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Divemaster Certification (or equivalent) from an internationally recognized certification agency, which is ISO or WRSTC approved
• Current dive accident insurance (DAN Master Level Coverage or equivalent)
• Current certifications in first aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen Administration
• Valid driver license
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, stoop, reach, climb, lift and/or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information in English
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Must be able to follow directions, learn from others and make appropriate decisions
• Must be dependable and stable under pressure
• Must have good written and oral communication skills
• Some weekend shifts required
