Description of Duties & Responsibilities

Students/Student Technicians will learn to answer/log phone calls/emails that are received at the TAMUG Helpdesk and assign to the appropriate IS Staff in the help box application. You will also assist with checking in/checking out equipment via the Voyager Media Reservation Scheduling Software.  All applicants must have computer experience; those with advanced skills may also be assigned to work with other IS staff to offer assistance and trouble-shoot classroom/residence hall hardware/software problems. ALL Students will review/complete the Helpdesk training tutorials through Elearning and complete each corresponding "assessment" aka "quiz", within the first 30 days of employment, these should be reviewed/referred to as needed and again at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester. 

Job Qualifications

Will need to have knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of computer networking and common computer applications: Complete online MSOffice training for: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access this is to ensure you know office well enough to know how to troubleshoot, misc problems over the phone that customers might have when they call the helpdesk. Must have the ability to multi-task, and work well with people on a variety of user levels.
