Description of Duties  & Responsibilities

 

Writing Lab coaches guide other students in Writing and research specific to their majors.  They work with faculty to align our practices to fit with objectives of specific faculty member and departments.  We do class presentations and develop handouts, PowerPoint and other resource materials.  This is a position with the potential to use skills you have and to learn others in the workplace setting.  Students selected will begin work this semester or in the summer as an orientation to Fall 2012 activities.  If you can't start until Fall, no

problem!

Job Qualifications  

Sophomore, Junior or Senior:  

Applicants should be reasonably good writers with an interest in becoming excellent.  Applicants must have encouraging personalities, able to work with students and to develop ongoing relationships with students and faculty. Ability to use PowerPoint, Web site and other software is a plus.  Must be able to work in a team, follow instructions and to work independently on assigned projects.  Our coaches start at minimum, but as skill grows, if budget allows, we normally adjust at the end of each semester.  Applicants should have a full year or  more remaining at TAMUG.

Note:  We need a bilingual coach or one who is partially conversational in Spanish to help with our ESL projects.
