Position Details

The Department of Maritime Systems Engineering (MASE) at Texas A&M University at Galveston invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning as soon as Fall of 2014; higher levels may be considered for exceptional candidates. The Galveston campus is located on the water near the Houston ship channel and is home to the maritime arm of Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will have expertise in some area of structural engineering and have earned both a BS and a PhD from a recognized institution in one or more of the following areas: Civil-Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture and/or Ocean Engineering. Expertise in ocean/offshore structures is desirable. MASE is an undergraduate program leading to a BS degree in engineering from Texas A&M University.  The MASE Department educates students, conducts research, and provides service to the academic and industrial enterprises in the field of civil engineering in the marine environment.  A core focus of the MASE program is design of offshore structures for offshore oil drilling and production, and most graduates are employed in this field.
