Position Details

Duties of position will be in the area of theoretical chemical modeling of molecules , mathematical and theoretical chemistry ( and physics) as well as knowledge of quantum -chemical computation, especially for conjugated-carbon nanostructures . Characterization of general substitution-reaction networks as a novel stereochemical structure,and group theoretic treatment of non-rigid molecules .

Department Details

The Department has recently moved into the new Ocean and Coastal Science Building, a 100,000 sqf LEED certified facility that facilitates close interactions across all fields of science on campus. The multidisciplinary offerings of the Department also include coastal planning, coastal marine geology, theoretical chemistry, analytical chemistry/instrumental analysis, environmental chemistry, radiochemistry, biogeochemistry, environmental law, remote sensing and geospatial analyses, as well as resource management and environmental policy. Recently, the Board of Regents of Texas A&M University approved the creation of the new Institute of Sustainable Coastal Communities as a collaboration between Texas A&M University at Galveston and Texas A&M’s College of Architecture. We expect the successful candidate to contribute to the development of research and academic programs of this multidisciplinary Institute.
