Position Details

Teach an undergraduate kinesiology class (1 credit hour) in competitive rowing. KINE 199 Rowing-Competitive is a class designed for students with a passion for rowing. Participants in the class will range from experienced rowers to novices. The instructor must have the “required” experience rowing, teaching and coaching rowing to qualify for the job as well as membership in the U.S. Rowing Association. The class will meet twice per week ( 2- 50 minute classes). Texas A&M University at Galveston is the Marine and Maritime Branch of Texas A&M University. The Department of General Academics encompasses a variety of disciplines, ranging from Anthropology to Spanish.Teaching KINE 199 Competitive Rowing. Construct class syllabus, maintain accurate records.

Education, Experience and Expectations

Required: Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or related field.  3yrs experience rowing (any combination to include rowing, teaching or coaching) or special licensure or certification. Member of US Rowing Assn. Ability to teach novice rowers as well as experienced rowers.

Preffered: Master's Degree in Kinesiology, 5 years rowing, teaching and coaching rowing at the college level, and evidence of good management and leadership skills. Evidence/recommendations which indicate excellence in management & leadership.
