Information for Incoming Graduate Students

2017 Spring Graduate Student Orientation

New Graduate Student Orientation for Spring 2017 will be held on Tuesday, January 10th. Classes begin for the Fall semester on Tuesday, January 17th.  All incoming students should plan to attend orientation.

2017 Teaching Assistant Institute (TAI)

TA Institute (TAI) is a mandatory requirement for any student planning to serve in a Graduate Assistant-Teaching (GAT) position during the 2016-2017 school year. Representatives from Texas A&M University’s Center for Teaching Excellence will be giving a full day training workshop for new TAs on January 11 or 28 in College Station, TX.

Human Resources Workshop

If this is the first semester that you are on an assistantship, please plan to attend the Human Resources Workshop on Friday, January 13 starting at 9 am in the Powell Marine Engineering Complex (PMEC) Room 242.  This all day event will include lunch.  Domestic employees should bring their original social security card and their driver’s license.  International employees should bring all their documents.
