This fellowship program was funded to encourage and
support maritime education. Texas A&M University at Galveston graduates
provide vital services in every facet of the maritime industry. Upon
graduation, maritime students often find jobs in the deep sea fleet; the
inland waterways tug and barge industry; coastal and offshore supply.
Ashore, graduates can be found working in marine insurance, brokering
and chartering, freight forwarding, port authorities, intermodal and
container operations, admiralty law, environmental protection, oil spill
responses, and ship design, building and repair. The maritime program at
Texas A&M University at Galveston is one of only six in the entire
United States and the only one located on the Gulf of Mexico.
A full-time 3.0+ GPA must be maintained to retain the fellowship
each semester.
