How to Check on your Financial Aid
The basic financial aid premise of Texas A&M University at Galveston is as follows: The main responsibility for meeting college expenses lies with the student and the student's family. Financial assistance from Texas A&M University at Galveston is intended to help students finance their education when family and personal resources are not adequate to meet the total educational costs. Financial aid consists of scholarships and grants (non-repayable gift assistance), loans (which must be repaid), and part-time employment. The university makes every effort to help students with limited financial resources secure the funds needed to pay for school. PROCESSING YOUR AID:
Once you submit your FAFSA to us, it will take approximately two weeks to receive your information from the Federal Processor. This is when we will begin the financial aid awarding process.

We receive your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the Federal Processor.

We determine your Cost of Attendance (Budget).

We calculate your financial aid eligibility for the academic year.

We notify you of the verification process, if selected.

We verify you are maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Step by Step Processing of Your Aid

Read the Financial Aid Offer Letter carefully before accepting or rejecting individual awards.

Review the estimated cost of attendance to assist in planning for how much aid you will need. You can view the estimated cost of attendance for the current academic year here.

Review the types of aid to understand other factors that may affect your financial aid.

Accept or reject the financial aid offered to you. This can be viewed in the Howdy portal.
Step 1: Go to the Howdy portal and access My Financial Aid through the Financial Aid Portal channel.
Step 2: Login using Texas A&M Net ID.
Step 3: Under the "Awards" tab, you will be able to accept or reject aid by clicking "Begin Processing." Please visit the Financial Aid Instructions page for more help on this process.
