How To Accept Your Financial Aid

If you have been awarded financial aid that you wish to ACCEPT, please follow these instructions:

 Log into your Howdy Portal with your NetID and Password.

  1. Click onto the “My Finances” tab.

  2. Click on the “Financial Aid Portal.”

  3. Click on “Fall 2014, Spring 2015, Summer 2015” year.

  4. Check the “Status” tab to see if you have any outstanding requirements.  These will be shown with a red “X” next to the requirement.  Please complete these before moving forward.

  5. Once all outstanding requirements are completed, click on the “Awards” tab.  This will show your aid selections under the “Offered” or “Accepted” headings.

  6. After reviewing your overall aid options and deciding which ones you wish to accept, click on “Begin Processing.”

  7. Next to each aid option will be a drop down list with the options of “Accept” or “Reject.”  Click on your selected choice, then click, “Proceed.” 

  8. Once you have completed your selections for each of your aid options, you will be directed back to the screen with the “Offered” and “Accepted” headings.

  9. If you only chose to accept grant and/or scholarships, then you are now finished in your acceptance process.

  10. If you chose to accept a loan, please check the “Status” screen again to ensure all of your documents are still complete.  In the event you are accepting a loan for the first time, you will have to complete additional documentation before your funds will be allowed to pay into your billing account with the University.
