"As you all know I did move to Chicago for a while, but missed Texas too much so I moved back in November of 2000. I am loving my new job and having a blast in the capital city."

"Writes saying he misses everyone, and most of all being close to the water! He has been working for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as an investigator for 3 years now and plan on staying a bit longer. He also plans on doing graduate work in environmental engineering. He said the family has grown. Helen is 9, Matthew is almost 4, and Anna is 1.5. He hopes everyone is doing well."

One of the hats I wear here at UTIG (www.ig.utexas.edu) is outreach coordinator. At our local spring science fair, I got reacquainted with TAMUG at their Sea Camp booth. I signed up to be a camp counselor for the first session of Sea Camp 2000. It was great being back but there sure are many changes since I lived on the Clipper in 1975. I was able to visit the Clipper II and I must say the Clipper I was a bit more comfortable. I’ve stayed employed all these years. For the first half of my tenure I was at sea half the time on our research vessels but not lately (thank God).We live on a ranch in the Hill Country and love it. Quite different from life in Galveston. I’d like to hear about old classmates. Hope this site takes off.

After graduating in '94, went to sea with Coastal, sailed both foreign and domestic for 1 1/2 years.  I then came shore-side to learn more about the office side of the business, which brought me into vessel operations and chartering.  I spent another two years with Coastal, shoreside and moved into full-time vessel chartering.  Then moved to San Antonio to work with Valero Refining in their scheduling group.  I've been married now for just over a year, to a Razor-back, but that's o.k.!  We have recently moved back to Houston.  I am working in the commercial group of Skaugen Petrotrans.

"Justin and I got married the day after he graduated, while all the family was already assembled in one area. We both worked shore-side for a while. We then decided to pursue other careers. We moved back to Justin's hometown, Dumas, in the Panhandle of Texas. He's farming with his family and I opened a dance studio. It's so nice to be your own boss! We are expecting our first child any day now, and I do mean any day."

I currently work at Dell selling computers, so if you guys are in the market, look me up. I’d really like to get back into environmental work…something...anything…let me know if you have any ideas for me.
