Galveston Futures is a cooperative venture that strives to envision a  resilient, sustainable and unified community on Galveston Island by encouraging civic participation in municipal planning.

 

Texas Hurricanes -The CTBS is currently working on investigating the nature of and responding to Texas and Gulf hurricanes.

 

Galveston Bay Ecosystem Services Project is a new collaborative initiative between HARC and CTBS to research the valuation techniques of ecosystem services of the Galveston Bay-Estuary System.

 

East End Park is a park protecting sensitive habitats, wetlands and lagoon areas on the east end of Galveston Island.

 

 

Erosion   - The CTBS has taken a number of erosion studies focusing on the economic impacts of shoreline erosion on the coastal zone.

 

Seaweed studies focus on seaweed management options for Galveston Island.

 

 

 

McAllis Point project is a nature park designed to retain some of the last remaining open spaces on the west end of Galveston Island.

 

The CTBS in collaboration with the College of Architecture, TAMU has developed the "Coastal Communities Planning Atlas". This Interactive Mapping Service provides interactive maps of the Texas coastline.    

 

Greenspaces of Galveston Island's East End is a design study envisioning interconnected greenways on the island's mostly developed east end.
