Warnakulasuriya, Frank

Dr. Warnakulasuriya serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marine Engineering Technology. He joined TAMUG in August 2003. Prior to working as a Senior Lecture at TAMUG, Dr. Warnakulasuriya has worked as a Design Engineer for major thermo-fluid equipment manufacturers for more than 10 years. After his doctorate, with parallel to his carrier at industries, he has worked nearly 3 years as a Visiting Lecturer for graduate, undergraduate & professional development programs with many universities and professional institutes.

Research
and Teaching Interest
Dr Warnakulasuriya’s
expertise lie in the areas of hydrodynamics and heat/mass transfers of drops,
multi-phase flows and energy systems. In these areas, he has performed many
mathematical, computational and experimental researches and modeling work for
development of equipments. In addition, he has designed and patented rotating
and thermo-fluid equipments, systems and their automations.
Dr. Wranakulasuriya’s teaching interests include thermo-fluid sciences,
material engineering, kinematics and dynamics of solids, mechanical
engineering design, mechatronics, controls and Automation.
