At 0800 this
morning cadets started taking exams. Overall, the
cadets are doing well on the exams.
This morning,
cadets on maintenance discovered a little bird that had
flown into paint and could not get out. Cadets took
immediate action to save the bird's life. Cadets
removed the bird from the paint and cadet Frankenfield went
to sickbay to brief the doctor on the situation. The
doctor reported to the scene of the bird accident, and
performed a medical exam on the bird. At first it
appeared the bird was not breathing, the doctor recommended
moving the bird to a place with a good breeze. The
cadets skillfully moved the bird to the starboard side of
the Q-deck and then started to wipe the paint off the bird
as the doctor had instructed.
After the paint was removed, the doctor determined the bird
had a heartbeat. As of now, the bird is resting and
under the care of the nurse.
Tonight, the
hanger is being turned into the "Texas Nugget." Cadets
and crew will be playing poker, craps, roulette, and black
jack for prizes. Each cadet and crewmember will be
given 100 dollars of TC II currency for tonight's big event.
Crewmembers will be the dealers and waitresses will be
serving finger food that was prepared by the galley crew.
Today is overcast
with squalls.
