Answer:
The pivot point of a ship is approximately 1/3 the vessel's
length from the bow when moving ahead and 1/3 the vessel's
length from the stern when moving astern. The pivot point
is always moving, for that reason it is sometimes referred to as
the peripatetic pivot point. |
This
morning has been cloudy. Some cadets still working on
their star days, fortunately they were able to shoot some
stars this morning. The ship has been rolling
approximately 10°

15°
in a quartering sea.
Last night Cadets Gee, MacMurdo, C. Winters, and Boucher
worked until 2000 painting the cargo hold deck red.
They did an excellent job.
This afternoon, cadets who
entered the beard growing contest were judged in the
following categories: fullest beard, most creative
beard, and the cadet who tried hardest to grow a beard but
could not (the peach fuzz award). Cadet Garrity won
the fullest beard, Cadet Moon won for the most creative
beard, and Cadet Boucher won the peach fuzz award.

occasional drizzle.
