Trivia

What is the distance between the Strait of Gibraltar and San Juan, Puerto Rico?

Yesterday's  Answer:
The zinc plates protect the hull against corrosion that is caused by galvanic action.

port of algenciras

Early this morning, as we transited the Straits of Gibraltar, Cadet Castorena, the senior on watch, conned the ship through fleets of fishing boats at the entrance of the strait while Cadet Johnson navigated the ship taking ranges and bearings from various points of land.  Both did an outstanding job.  At 0918, the pilot boarded and took us to the anchorage in the Bay of Gibraltar.

Now we are taking on bunkers from "Spabunker Twenty," a bunker barge that is almost as large as the Texas Clipper II.

Approximately, 1900 we will depart the Bay of Gibraltar and head to San Juan.
