Texas Clipper Housing

Housing for all freshman cadets for Fall 2008 will be aboard the Texas Clipper. A freshman cadet is defined any first year License Option Cadet, Spirit Cadet, or NROTC Cadet. Exceptions are those cadets that are married and/or have custody of a child/children; those cadets who are veterans; and those cadets with cadets with prior maritime academy experience. If you have questions as to whether or not you qualify for housing aboard the Texas Clipper, please contact Commander Paul Thrower at throwerp@tamug.edu or (409)740-4922.

Each freshman cadet will reside in a private room aboard the ship. Each deck used for cadet housing features laundry facilities. There are three large-screen tv lounges and several group study rooms on the ship. Though areas have been established for large-item storage, cadets are encouraged to plan accordingly for residence on the vessel. Bike racks are available on the dock. To help cadets better plan for residence aboard the Texas Clipper, images have been posted offering a general idea as to space and layout of the rooms. Please understand that while each room offers the same general furniture, layouts and specific furniture do vary.
