CIS Support for Students
CIS provides internet access for all students in the following locations:
1. Library Resource Center (LRC) and classroom labs: CLB 111, CLB 114, MERC 242
2. Residence Halls
3. Pelican Island private student residences (When problems do occur please be patient and use the Network access in the LRC, until your room can be repaired.)
4. Virtual private network (VPN) clients can access Library resources database to work on projects from home, using either DSL or Cable modem
CIS provides assistance and services to students including:

Helpdesk support (LRC workers and CIS staff, x4480 or x4714)- Resetting neo passwords – must have your student ID (Bob Scribner in SAGC Rm #912 - Admissions and Records or Tony Quigg in CLB 115) Students who are off campus and cannot come by the office should call the Neo Account Services # (979)-845-7223.
- Providing written guidelines (printed and online) for utilizing campus computing resources
- Providing Services including:
--Email (coordinate and contribute funding for College Station provided NEO email accounts)
--WebCT (provide WebCT Vista and coordinate and contribute funding to College Station’s WebCT Vista System)
--Troubleshooting network problems
-- Should the student still have problems connecting after following our handout, CIS Tech's will assist with network problems by going into the dorm room to assist troubleshooting and will help configure the student's Ethernet adapter to connect to our network.
--Microsoft licenses which can be ordered by the students from College station URL

-- Anti-Virus Software MUST be installed on your PC and set to auto update weekly.
-- Telephone services in the residential halls.
-- Setting up access to student web space and club web space.
-- Printer and printing assistance whether it's color or B/W.
-- Creating/Burning of CD's for Class Projects. (This is available in the LRC)
