IS student employment opportunities:
IS Helpdesk - Responsible for answering & logging all phone calls/emails that are received at the TAMUG Helpdesk and assign to the appropriate IS staff member. This may include any type of PC, Network or Telecommunications related problems from faculty, staff or students. Will also assist with checking in/out related equipment via the Media Reservation Scheduling Software. Answer the helpdesk phone and log tickets into our helpdesk system.
Experience / Skills required: Must have computer experience and may be assigned to work with IS staff to offer assistance and troubleshoot any classroom/software problems. Answer callers in a professional manner, record problem details accurately, provide advice for known problems and issues, turn up for shifts on time. Must have the ability to multi-task and work well with people on a variety of user levels. Must be able to work under deadlines.
Knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of computer networking and common computer applications -
MS Office (Word - Expert; Excel - Intermediate; PowerPoint - Basic; Access - Basic);
Win XP/Vista/Win 7 - Intermediate;
Email (NEO) - Intermediate;
Scanner - Intermediate;
Printer - Basic.
Days and/or Hours Needed: Up to 20 hours/week during semester (40 hours during breaks)
