How Do I?
Staff and Faculty who have an "@tamug.edu" email address can access their Exchange Outlook account from a web browser either on or off campus. This is ideal for checking your email while at another location on campus, at home or out of town.
To Access Your Web Outlook Account
Open your web browser and go to http://mail.tamug.edu
A login box will appear as follows:
Enter your Tamug email username WITHOUT the @tamug.edu
Enter the password you use to login to the network while on campus
You will then be presented with the Outlook Web Access Screen
From here you can check emails, send emails, delete emails, check your calendar in almost the same way you use Outlook from your work computer.
Out of Office Message
The Options area lets you turn on/off your out of office assistant message. Click on the Options button, at the top of the screen is the out of office assistant. Enter your out of office message and click the button to turn it on or off.
Recover Deleted Emails
Another feature available under the Options area is the ability to recover deleted emails. If you accidentally delete an email you can log into the web outlook and see if it is there and recover it.
Go to Options and scroll to the very bottom where it says Recover Deleted Items. Click View Items. If there are items to view you can scroll through them and when you find the item you want click Recover. The item will be placed back into your deleted items folder in your normal outlook program. You can then move it back to your inbox or other related folder.
Note: the ability to recover deleted emails is only available for a short time before they are removed permanently.
