Activating Your NetID

Your NetID is used to access your University supplied email and Blackboard Vista as well as myrecord.tamu.edu and many other University Systems. Take the time to choose a suitable NetID as it will be used as your University email address. 1. Open a web browser (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox) and go to the web address: http://gateway.tamu.edu/. 4. Click the Login button. 6. Finally, create a password. Enter it again to confirm your password, then click Submit. |

You have now activated your NetID. For further assistance, please contact Help Desk TAMUG 409 740 4480, email helpdesk@tamug.edu or Logging in to your University Email Account 1. Go to http://gateway.tamu.edu/ and under "Email" select " New Tamu Email".
You should see the following screen:

2. Log into your University e-mail account using the NetID and password you just created. Choose a method of receiving e-mail You have two options:
For further information about using the Tamu email system go to http://cis.tamu.edu/Services/Email/index.php Forgotten PasswordIf you cannot remember your password you can come into CIS, CLB Room 115 and request a password reset ( bring picture ID and your UIN) or call Helpdesk Central at 979 845 8300. There is also an option within the email system to set a "Security Question" that will enable you to reset your own password if you forget it without having to get your account marked for reset by a helpdesk person. |
