Department of Communications and Media Relations
At Texas A&M University at Galveston, the Department of Communications and Media Relations is an information gateway to the university’s programs and people.
Our communications office is different than most in that we are charged with communicating and showcasing the research, service and education as well as the culture of this unique by-the-sea community of 2,500 people located adjacent to the Houston/Galveston ship channels.
We share a passion for the water with professors, administrators and staff who work amid an ocean environment. Our communications for the President’s Office and the Administration enhances the good leadership of the university. Telling the story of this tier-one university, which educates graduates, contributes to scientific knowledge, offers a community resource and provides economic impact upon Texas and the nation is a privilege of those who work here.
Beyond our work with the campus community on Pelican Island, we collaborate with marketing and communication office at TAMU and the A&M System as well as affiliates at the A&M Foundation and the Association of Former Students. Our good relationships extend to the media as well as community groups, providing a local voice for Texas A&M and a valuable education partner for the Houston-Galveston area.
Our office staff of two people is committed to efficiency in showcasing the university’s worth. As part of the Sea Aggie culture, we are dedicated to delivering the message that Texas A&M University at Galveston — Home of the 12th Man-by-the-Sea — proves its worth as a premier university for ocean and coastal studies.
