Pool Schedule:

The pool is only open to current students, faculty, and staff of TAMUG or those with a community membership.

If you are interested in renting the pool for private use, please contact Ben Kern at bkern@tamug.edu

*Early fall/spring is defined as the first half of the semester. Late fall/spring is the second half, transition is typically Halloween in the fall and Spring Break in the spring.  Please call 409-740-4514 with questions.


Early Fall/Late Spring* Hours 

Monday - Friday  7:30-8:30am & 12-8pm
Saturday 12-6pm
Sunday 2-6pm


Late Fall/Early Spring* Hours 

Mon-Fri  12-2pm & 5-7pm

Saturday-Sunday - Closed


Intercessional Hours (When classes are not in session)

Pool Rules:

  1. The pool is only open when a lifeguard is on duty.
  2. Only current TAMUG students, faculty, and staff or alumni and community members with a membership to the P.E. Facility are allowed to use the facility.
  3. Proper swim attire is required.
  4. People with open wounds or infectious diseases are not permitted in the pool.
  5. The practice of hyperventilating and extended breath holding activities in the pool is PROHIBITED (Breath Holding Policy).
  6. No pets are allowed in the pool area.
  7. Lap lanes are for lap swimming only.
  8. Do not hang on the lane lines.
  9. Food should be kept to a minimum and kept away from the pool.
  10. No running or horseplay on the pool deck.
  11. No glass or other breakable containers are allowed.
  12. No hanging on the basketball goal.
  13. Only 1 person is allowed on the diving board at a time.
  14. Multiple bounces/jumps on the diving board are not allowed.
  15. The aquatic staff has the authority to deem a dive/jump unsafe. 
  16. Lightning Procedures


Lifeguards at the TAMUG outdoor pool are paid student worker positions open to any TAMUG student interested in on-campus employment.  Potential lifeguards must have American Red Cross lifeguard, CPR, 1st Aid, & AED certifications or equivalent (Ellis & Assoc., BSA, etc).  If you are interested in applying, complete the student worker application available and turn it in at the P.E. Facility.
