One Big Day,
One Big Thanks!
March 27, 2010

Worksite Information

Throughout the years, the Galveston community has shown enormous support for the students of Texas A&M University at Galveston. For this reason, the Big Event strives to return that appreciation to the Galveston community. Every year, student volunteers from Texas A&M University at Galveston spend one Saturday performing various service projects all across the Galveston area. This year’s Big Event will be held on Saturday March, 27th. Projects that are performed on this day include such projects as small repair projects, landscaping, deck/fence building, window cleaning, and painting just to name a few examples. Organizations requesting volunteers are asked to provide tools and supplies needed for the project(s).

Through Big Event, students at Texas A&M University at Galveston aim to strengthen the relationship between the University and the community in which we live. We encourage all non-profit organizations to allow the students of Texas A&M University at Galveston to express their gratitude and appreciation by requesting the performance of a service project.

Any non-profit organization within Galveston wishing to request volunteer services, please contact the Texas A&M University at Galveston Big Event Committee at (409) 740-4420. We will return your call as soon as possible. We ask that you leave a very detailed message pertaining to the work site including a job description, time requested for students’ arrival, location that you would like students to arrive at on the date of the event, contact information for the person in charge of the project, etc.

If you any further question, comments, or concerns, feel free to email me at tamugbigevent2010@hotmail.com.
