Change of Curriculum

Students at Texas A&M University at Galveston may apply to "Change Curriculum" to any major offered at the Galveston campus or at the College Station campus as long as they meet the requirements of the intended major. The process is different.

Galveston to Galveston Change of Curriculum Or TAMU College Station to Galveston
If a TAMUG student is requesting to change curriculum to another TAMUG major or if a TAMU College Station student wishes to change curriculum to the Galveston campus, the student should submit the Change of Curriculum form and return it to the Enrollment Services Office in the Sea Aggie Center.

Galveston to College Station Change of Curriculum
All students who are applying to Change Curriculum from TAMUG to TAMU MUST comply with all of the following requirements:
1. You must complete a minimum of 27 credit hours earned with at least a 2.50 GPA while enrolled as a student in residence on the TAMUG campus and;
2. You must meet the minimum course and GPA requirements for your new major and;
3. You must contact the TAMU department for your new intended major to determine the specific requirements that you must meet (deadlines, core and prerequisite courses, departmental applications in addition to the Change of Curriculum form, etc.) and;
4. You must take responsibility for arranging to meet the requirements. Many of the departments are having specific Change of Curriculum meetings and you will need to make arrangements with them if it is mandatory and you are unable to attend.

Once this is completed, the academic dean or the departmental advisor will grant all final decisions regarding changing curriculum into their individual departments.  Many departments will wait until final grades are posted for the term. In addition, TAMUG students may find the Change of Curriculum Requirements provided on the General Studies web page helpful; however it should be noted that the requirements are subject to change at any time without notice. General Studies advisors update the information at least once each year or as notified.  Ultimately, it is the student's responsibility to verify all academic requirements with a desiredmajor through personal discussions with the department, the TAMU catalog and/or the departmental websites. Although it is not absolutely necessary, you can turn in a copy of your Change of Curriculum form to TAMUG Admissions and Records so that any issues that arise can be addressed from our campus as well. Please feel free to contact us at 409-740-4414 if you have any questions or concerns. Please know that we are pleased that you have chosen to work on your academic career here at TAMUG. You are welcome to stay here and graduate with the Texas A&M University diploma as a "Sea Aggie."
