Mr. Grant W. Shallenberger '89
Assistant
Vice President for Student Affairs & Auxiliary Services
Grant Shallenberger has been with Texas A&M University at Galveston since 1989.
During his tenure, he has directly overseen student activities, housing,
intramurals and financial aid. As Assistant Vice President for Student
Affairs & Auxiliary Services, he is responsible for all of the student affairs
functions, including counseling, career planning and placement, student life and
residence life as well as all of the auxiliary functions including food service,
bookstore, copy services, summer conferences, and mail services. In
addition to these duties, Mr. Shallenberger assists in all facets of the
division’s budgeting process.
Mr.
Shallenberger earned his B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University in 1986
and his M.A in Public Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in
1994. Two accomplishments that he is most proud of are the recent
completion of a major renovation in all campus residence halls that upgraded all
facilities and furnishings for campus residents, and the division wide infusion
of technology. In addition, Mr. Shallenberger was awarded the
Distinguished Staff Service Award in 1994 and the William Paul Ricker
Distinguished Staff Award in 2003.
Mr. Shallenberger resides in
Galveston with his wife, Sara and two children, Megan and Amanda. The
family attends a local church where Mr. Shallenberger serves as Treasurer.
