As Director of Computing and Information Services (CIS), Steven M. Conway directs the daily operations and long-range strategic planning of the university computing and information services department. Steven came to TAMUG in 1998 from the Audubon Institute in New Orleans where he managed computing systems for the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo. His initiatives include close coordination of CIS goals and activities with the requirements of their internal university customers. On a daily basis he oversees the data network operation and management, the telephone system, PC support, computer training and computer applications support. He lectures on computer systems at TAMUG and is active in student mentoring. Mr. Conway holds a Masters in Public and Private Management from Yale University, a Masters in Marine Biology, and a BS in Marine Science from the United States Coast Guard Academy. He retired from the Coast Guard as a Commander in 1996 after twenty-five years service. |
