Classes are MORE FUN on the Water!

The ocean is our classroom and now you have a unique opportunity to become a part of the

PLANK OWNER CREW of W.A.V.E.

The W.A.V.E. community is focused on seamanship of small vessels. In our community, you have an opportunity to gain practical knowledge about topics from small vessel maneuvering to general maintenance of boats.

Learn about knots. Practice trailer maneuvering. Service an engine. All this and more will help you gain experience as a novice mariner. You will also discover what it means to be a member of a real nautical crew and a life-long learning community.

DEADLINE to apply is July 5th 2011

Nautical Term: plank owner, plank holder (n)
Definition: A member of the original crew that sailed on the first voyage of a ship. The "plank" was an actual piece of wood from the ship, given to the crewmember upon retirement. More recently, a plaque or certificate is given.
