TAMUG MATH PLACEMENT TEST

INFORMATION

Math Placement Testing

The Math Placement Test is used to evaluate math skills so that students can be placed in the most appropriate math class when they register for classes at the Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) New Student Conference.  At TAMUG, we are able to offer this test to our students online, which will make your experience on campus during the New Student Conference much more productive and enjoyable.

The results of the test and ACT or SAT scores are used by our math faculty to determine which college-level math course will be the correct “starting point”.

You may log on to take the math placement test at http://webct.tamug.edu/.  There are two parts to the test, Algebra and Trigonometry.

Please read the "How To" instructions to become familiar with the on-line test.

To avoid any delays in course registration, you must take the test no later than two weeks prior to arriving for your New Student ConferenceArriving to your conference with your placement scores already on hand should provide you a smoother registration process, allowing for a more satisfying orientation experience.  If you are having difficulties with taking the test on-line, please do not delay in contacting us.
