PASS-Peer Assisted Study Sessions
TAMUG’s Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
for the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
and Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
PASS aims to provide a learning atmosphere which differs from the traditional tutorial environment. PASS sessions are led by 'PASS Facilitators', students who have successfully passed the MCAT or GRE. The focus is on integrating the exam content (what to learn) with academic reasoning and study skills (how to learn).
PASS is offered as a series of weekly study sessions for students preparing for the GRE or MCAT to discuss difficult concepts and develop strategies for studying. The focus of each session will be determined by the needs of the group. Attendance is voluntary. Students that attend PASS regularly, will have a better understanding of exam content.
Keep these things in mind about PASS:
Sessions will be offered 1 or 2 times per week
based on student need & Facilitator availability
Attend as many sessions as you like
No need to sign up in advance
Facilitators guide the sessions
Sessions are informal
Bring notes, textbooks, study guides, and questions
GRE PASS Facilitator
