JAMP-Joint Admission Medical Program

Texas A&M University Galveston is JUMPING for JAMP!

We are one of 31 Texas public institutions of higher education that are helping make medical school affordable for Texans!

JAMP provides services to support and encourage highly qualified, economically disadvantaged students pursuing a medical education.  Students selected for JAMP will receive undergraduate and graduate scholarships and summer stipends; JAMP also guarantees the admission of those students who are qualified to at least one participating medical school.

Who's eligible to apply to become a TAMUG JAMPer?

Any currently enrolled TAMUG student that meets ALL of the following conditions:

  • Texas Resident

  • Sophomore Classification (U2)
    Apply to JAMP during the second year of college after graduation from high school

  • Economically disadvantaged
    i.e. Qualify for a Federal Pell Grant based on FAFSA Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
    Talk to a TAMUG Financial Aid Counselor to obtain your Student Aid Report (SAR)

  • Completed 27 hours of undergraduate credit (at TAMUG) during Freshman year
    Must be completed in the first year of college after graduation from high school
    No more than 3 hours of AP Credit count towards the 27 hour requirement

  • Freshman Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher

  • Freshman Biology, Chemistry, Physics, & Math course GPA of 3.25 or higher

  • Ability to participate in two summer internships provided by JAMP
