W.A.V.E. Links
Small Fleet Maintenance
W.A.V.E. participants will gain practical hands-on experience while using and caring for the university's small vessel fleet. Students will be responsible for routine maintenance and vessel upkeep. Excursions will provide opportunities for gaining knowledge alongside university captains in on-shore and off-shore vessel care. Upon completion of this program, all participants will receive their certification as a small vessel operator.
Nautical Term: engineer (n)
Definition: The position of any crewmember responsible for the maintenance and operation of the ship’s engines. The rank or rating of such crewmembers.
