        The LYONS Engineering Preporatory Institute and scholarship is funded by a grant from the McDaniel Charitable Foundation.  The 2007 LYONS Engineering summer curriculum is an academically intensive math, physics, and engineering preparation program for students who have been accepted to TAMUG for the fall semester.  The students prepare to  enroll in either Maritime Systems Engineering or Marine Engineering Technology.  Participants in the Engineering Prep Institute were involved with hands-on lab experiences including designing and building an underwater remote operated vehicle.   The summer program introduces the student to the world of engineering.
