Ocean Engineering

Department of Ocean Engineering

The Department of Ocean Engineering offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Offshore and Coastal Systems Engineering (OCSE) and Ocean Engineering (OCEN), and Masters and Doctoral-level degrees in Ocean Engineering.  Each of the undergraduate programs is ABET-accredited in Ocean Engineering and effectively synthesizes ocean engineering, civil engineering, and naval architecture to the design of ocean systems and structures. This Department was formed in 2015 though the combination of the existing Department of Maritime Systems Engineering in Galveston with the program of Ocean Engineering in College Station, each of which had been graduating students into this exciting field for 40 years. read more
