Texas A&M University at Galveston Office of Financial Aid is looking forward to assisting you in meeting your financial needs so you can achieve your academic goals as a Sea Aggie!  If you are a veteran or a child or spouse of a veteran who qualifies for veteran educational benefits, we would like to offer you a checklist to ensure that you are prepared to receive your benefits in a timely manner.
Have you completed the Veterans Online Application (VONAPP)? Have you received your Certificate of Eligibility?
  • This will be sent to you after completion of the VONAPP. 
  • Please call Veterans Affairs at 1-888-442-4551 with questions.
If you do not qualify for Federal Veteran Educational Benefits, have you visited to check your eligibility for Hazlewood Exemption, a state benefit?
  • If you believe you qualify for Hazlewood Exemption, please submit the Hazlewood Exemption applications with all required documentation.
Do you have a copy of the VA DD Form 214, Certificate of Release / Discharge from Active Duty? For transfer students, have you completed the Request for Change of Program / Place of Training, VA Form 22-1995? Do you have a copy of your Military Transcript? After registering for classes at your New Student Conference, please submit a TAMUG Request for Certification Form, which is completed on the Financial Aid Portal ("My Finances" tab in Howdy)

Career Counseling

Workforce Commission -Search for jobs while you are a student or find assistance in finding a career when you are finished with your degree. Visit the veterans' services program overview for the Texas Workforce Commission.

Recruit Military -If you register online, you will be notified of job leads and get information about job fairs for veterans only at Minute Maid Park that is well attended by hiring representatives from many Fortune 500 companies.
