Learning the Ropes

W.A.V.E. members gain practical hands-on experience in boat operations and maintenance. There will be scheduled activities throughout the week which students will be required to attend. These activities include splicing lines, learning knots, trailer maneuvering, and basic engine service. Students will learn directly from the captains of the university's vessels. At the conclusion of this one year program all members will have the opportunity to become certified small vessel operators.
