Maritime Systems Engineering (MASE)

MASE provides an interdisciplinary education in offshore, coastal, and structural engineering.  The curriculum introduces the students to a systems oriented approach to design.

The offshore engineering area of study addresses the design of marine structures and includes wind and wave forces, hydrodynamics, and ocean engineering technology.

Coastal engineering addresses the design of breakwaters and seawalls/bulkheads; coastal process projects such as beach nourishment and protection; and near shore/inlet hydrodynamics.

The synthesis of structural, on/offshore, and civil engineering are the strong themes of this program.

MASE is an ABET accredited degree program.
