Dee Ann comes to Texas A&M University at Galveston with over 27 years of experience in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, and emergency management. She sat on console for seven shuttle launches while working in aerospace for United Space Alliance; advised the Company Crisis Management Team; and assisted with preparation for and recovery after Hurricanes Rita, Gustav, and Ike along with other tropical systems. Dee Ann was honored on multiple occasions for teamwork and safety, and a NASA astronaut presented her with a Silver Snoopy award for human flight safety and mission success.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene and Safety from University of Houston Clear Lake and a Master of Science in Technology with a concentration in Emergency Management from Arizona State University. In addition, she has received designations as a Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Emergency Manager, and Certified Texas Emergency Manager and was recently named one of College of the Mainland’s Distinguished Alumni for 2016. 

Currently, Dee Ann serves as the Safety Coordinator providing oversight for Lab Safety and Student/Employee Safety Training. She brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge along with a strong safety ethic to TAMUG. 

Dee Ann volunteers in the community as a City Commissioner-at-Large for the City of Texas City and serves on the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Galveston County Animal Services Advisory Committee, Galveston County Transit District Board, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Texas City.
