"After much deliberation, my husband and I decided to move back home to Nebraska. I am currently employed at a small zoo, The Folsom Children's Zoo, where I train seals, bears, leopards, crocodiles and otters. I have recently been promoted to Registrar and have also been appointed by the American Zoological Association to be the Hippocampus abdominalis (potbelly seahorse) studbook keeper for North America. I am also attending Graduate school for a MPA (Masters in Public Administration).
My family also keeps me very busy. My son is about to enter high school and is a pitcher for a local baseball team. Our summers are never boring."

Hey Ags,

I am just back from a 2 mos. stay in Japan.  I volunteered at an organic farm in the mountains and had a pretty good time.  I live in Santa Cruz CA for the moment and am doing the job search thing again.  I worked at a marine science camp over this past summer close to San Francisco...that was really fun.

We finally made it back to Austin! I would love to go to the reunion, but it is a week before our 3rd child is due, don’t think the doc will let me travel. After the baby, will be returning to school, hopefully to finish the RN program this time. Hope everyone is doing well!

I just returned from Cuba where we established a viable trading link with the Spiny Lobster Processors. We also smoked myriad cohibas and drank lots of rum. Prior to that, I set up the "first" rock-concert in the Russian Far East, look on the internet under "VLADIROKSTOK."

Brandi Fields ’01

"In an email to Dr. Harper, Brandi writes that she started out at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a research assistant. It was an interesting first year. I had no previous experience running/maintaining a lab. I learned everything on my own as I was the only one in the lab. I eventually began training summer and graduate students and began seeing patients. My classification didn’t allow for patients interaction so I was promoted. I expect my title will change again soon to a lab coordinator or something similar. MD Anderson is a great place to work but I’m approaching the dreaded 3 years. So far, 3 years is the longest I can stay motivated at any one place before I’m ready to find a new challenge. I have a few adventures I’m considering."
