"In January 2003 I returned from a one-year mobilization in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqui Freedom. What a way to spend my 18th year in the U.S. Naval Reserves! While activated I supervised the IT Customer Service and Maintenance Department for the Navy’s Central Command Headquarters in Bahrain (a small island nation off the coast of Saudi Arabia). In November I was able to sneak away from the Navy for two-weeks leave and married Grace on Thanksgiving weekend during one of our annual trips to New Orleans for the Buccaneers/Saints game. Lost that game but you know the results of the Superbowl!I returned to my civilian duties at NOAA fisheries in Petersburg, Florida, to a new position as the Southwest Region’s National Environmental Policy Act and Essential Fish Habitat Coordinator for the Habitat Conservation Division. We just recently moved into our new house so with a new house, new job & new wife…life is great!Gig ‘em Sea Ags!"

I moved to Houston after graduation and worked at Baylor College of Medicine for not quite a year.  I took a job in Maryland as a sales rep for a company that manufactures research products for laboratories.  I live right in between Baltimore and Washington, DC.  I’ working now on my MBA and MS in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University.  Staying busy, as usual!

Mark Daniel ‘99

Moved out here to Southern California.  Trust me, move out here.  The ports of LA and Long Beach are booming.  If you have any questions about jobs or life out here or just need a place to stay while passing through, let me know.

We have been happily married for over a year now and keep extremely busy with all the activities in our church (David is the director of College and Young Adult Ministries) and with our “son” Digger, a very active lhasa apso puppy.

"After graduation from the MARM program in May 2004 and a brief internship with the EPA Region 6 in Dallas, I was offered a job with the City of Dallas in the Storm Water Pollution Prevention education group. I started on January 5, 2005 and have great expectations of the future with this position. It is directly related to the MAST/MARM program curriculum and I can’t wait for the adventure!! "

"Upon graduation from TAMUG in 1981 I entered the U. S. Navy as a surface warfare officer and served aboard three surface combatant ships. I got out of the military during the Clinton force reduction and went back to school to become a Physician Assistant. I currently practice virtually autonomously in a rural clinic in Nixon, Texas. I still remember my time and friends at TAMUG with fondness."

"rep·ro·bate n. A morally unprincipled person. One who is predestined to damnation. A captain is said to be a man who knows a great deal about very little, and who goes along knowing more and more about less and less…until finally he knows practically everything about nothing. An engineer, on the other hand, is a man who knows very little about a great deal and keeps knowing less and less about more and more…until he knows practically nothing about everything. Surveyors start out knowing everything about everything…but end up knowing nothing about anything due to their association with Captains and Engineers."

"I just finished my first year of law school at the University of Miami. I moved into the most amazing apartment (12th floor, view of South Beach and the Ocean). I have a pretty good job at a local law firm that is only a few blocks from home, and I still manage to make it to club openings and to the beach!"

"After graduation, I went into the Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Program. I received my teaching certificate and taught HS Science in Dallas for 5 years. I have just moved to my Alma Mater, Richardson HS, suburb of Dallas, where I will be teaching Science with some of my old teachers. It will be interesting.

I met my future husband a few months after graduation. We were married 5/29/99. A big group of my A&M buddies came and we had lots of fun. It was great seeing everyone again. Jim and I bought a house in August 2000 in Wylie, Texas, a north Dallas suburb."

I have been teaching middle and high school science for 17 years now. My own kids are 15 and 13 and plan to become engineers.

For fun, Michael, and the kids and I enjoy Midevil Wars with the SCA. We go to most of the major Southern California events. I'd love to hear from some of my old TAMUG friends. I've lost touch with everyone!”

"I recently received my Real Estate License here in California, but am still working as a Cytogenetic Technician part time. My boyfriend and I are expecting our first baby March 29, 2004. With everything going on things are crazy!!
Andy and I are still close and talk several times a month. He's been working out at Los Alamos National Laboratory since March of '99. I'd tell you what he does, but if he told me he'd have to "kill me", so I don't ask. :-)"

"During the last two years I have been the lead author on a middle school science textbook series that has just made the textbook adoption list in Texas! I had a little help from my friend, Mary Ashlock Spivey (MARB '83) with the 8th grade book! When the book adoption process is over in the Spring of 2002, my girls and I will be joining my husband at his new job location in St. Croix, U.S.V.I. This will be a great adventure for a MARB major who has spent the last 8 years away from the coast!"

“I have been teaching at IWA for the last 8 years and just love it. I teach Marine Science, Biology, and IPC. I only work part-time which allows me to be Mommy the rest of the time. I coach a Ocean Sciences Bowl team that has gone on to nationals the last 4 years. My daughter keeps me busy the rest of the time with ballet, piano, volleyball, and choir. I still have to many animals: 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 1 gerbil and numerous fish. I keep in contact with Elani Gray and Lynnda Kahn but that’s about all.”
