A detailed study of the economic impacts of shoreline erosion on the coastal zone – particularly the National Flood Insurance Program - may be obtained from the Heinz Center at the following link, http://www.heinzctr.org/publications.htm. The title of the publication is Evaluation of Erosion Hazards. Detailed GIS maps for this project for Galveston and Brazoria Counties are available at CTBS and have been widely used in developing coastal erosion policies in Texas.

Texas A&M University at Galveston hosts a website for the Texas Coastal Erosion Data Network (TCEDN). This site is an evolving compendium of projects along the Texas coasts that deal with coastal erosion. The site has been managed by the CTBS since 2006. The link to the TCEDN is http://coastal.tamug.edu/.
